From many people, I hear the sentiment about how fast time flies, especially the older one gets. I have never felt that. For me I experience time almost in slow motion. It feels like ages since I have had to celebrate this day. Not a bad thing, just different. I learned a long time ago that I don’t do well making resolutions; instead, these are my wishes for a Happy New Year 2026.

For Others
Our world is in such a state of despair it seems. Negativity abounds. If I could have one wish to cover the earth like a blanket, it would be for kindness to prevail. I know that may sound naïve or childish, and perhaps it is.

But maybe just maybe, we can individually be a little kinder in our everyday lives. The ripple effect that might prevail would be wonderous and life changing to some. I know for me personally, when a human, a stranger is kind to me, even in the smallest most insignificant ways, it makes my whole day brighter.
For Myself
I wish for nothing and have everything I need. Happy, earnest and hard-working children, a roof over my head, warmth most of the time and the ability to buy healthy food. That has been the beauty of travelling full time for over three years. Living out of a suitcase, having to do without many things that others place value on. When it really comes down to it, happiness and fulfillment come from within.

Of course, there are times when I want more, want things. Perhaps even need things but don’t have the funds to purchase them. But those times are lessons in themselves. Lessons of perseverance, digging deep for inner strength and prevailing.
For 2026, I hope you my dear readers, have all your wishes and wants come true. It is a chaotic world we live in, full of strife and difficulty for many. If you can find your way forward, take that leap, take that risk. Pass kindness onto your fellow man.
