For my first venture into the city, and not knowing fully what to expect, I decided to stay in a hotel for a few days, just to get my feet wet. It was a wise decision and for a little splurge in price, I stayed in a lovely hotel on the beach. The Mandila Beach Hotel in Da Nang was everything I needed it to be and more.
Check-In
Easy peasy. I arrived late at night after a 40-hour travel day(s) and was greeted with smiles and warmth. Quickly handed my key, my suitcase was taken to my room and I was finally able to relax. I took some pictures before settling in.
The Room
I booked a larger room, with two beds and a balcony overlooking the ocean. It was a splurge but for the few extra dollars it cost, I liked having the space to spread out.
The bed was so comfy with nice soft white linen and plenty of pillows.
Mounted on the wall was a Smart TV, and I found a movie channel in English that was a complete luxury to watch. The room included a desk area, small table and chair, double closet, bath robes, flip-flops for the rooftop pool, scale and a safe.
The balcony was long and was outfitted with a table and chair, perfect to sit, have a beer and watch the waves roll in.
There is a little mini fridge with beverages that you can purchase as well as a packet of seaweed snacks and cup of noodles. Fees seemed reasonable for a hotel. However just outside the front door is a T-mart where I purchased water and unique snacks to enjoy in the room.
Bathroom
Inside the bathroom was the deepest tub I have had access to in a looong time, in fact the only tub I have had access to in more than a year. 😂 The facilities were sparkling clean, and everything worked. Included was shampoo, body wash, a comb, two dental kits, a shower cap and Q-Tip’s.
Free Breakfast
Included in the nightly price is a free breakfast. I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Not only was there quite a large selection of goodies, but they were delicious as well. Have a look at some of my meals during my stay. Amazing really!
The Staff
The best part of this hotel? The staff for sure. Not a sour fact among the lot. Each one I met was overly friendly, welcoming, courteous and kind. Another bonus? Upon check-in you will receive a voucher for one free dinner item in the Halo Restaurant on the top floor! Staff bent over backwards to make my dinner perfect. 🥰
Pool & Gym
While there are these two things on offer here, I did not use either. The weather was not conducive to the rooftop pool, although it did look so inviting.
I highly recommend the Mandila Beach Hotel for your next visit to Da Nang. My nightly rate including everything was $90 CAD which for me is a complete splurge as I like to stay as much under $50 as I can. Visitors will not be disappointed with the rooms, facilities and most of all the beautiful staff.
Did I mention it is right across the road from the amazing beach??
