Ok we all know by now how much I love love love exploring markets! Well I was out and about with no where to go, just wandering the streets early in the morning. I began to see a few people setting up wares on blankets on the sidewalk. This is a good sign you are nearing a market. Yes! The biggest, the best & cheapest bazaar in Antalya is what I bumped right into!!
Getting There
You will want to come here to at least view this huge and bountiful market, if not to shop your little heart out! Located here, or google Carsamba Pazar and you will be able to find it easily. Just off the main drag Sokullu Cd. at 620 Sk.
Transformation
During the week, this space is a huge concrete two floor parade, but on Sunday mornings, at 8am the transformation begins. By 9am most vendors are up and running and the early birds are starting to purchase their weekly needs.
It runs all day long, until 8pm and like other pazars that I have been to in the region, the prices drop as the day goes on, especially with the produce.
Main Level
The ground floor or main level is all food. So much produce, fresh fruits, vegetables and a myriad of dried goods.
Along one wall are the fish stalls and down from them are the cheese vendors. Feast your eyes on the huge volumes of Turkish cheese. Yum! Of course it wouldn’t be a Turkish Pazar without the sweets too.
One fun thing I purchased were freshly roasted peanuts! Several vendors were selling the raw form, recently dug up from the soil. One man was roasting peanuts right there and then. After a free taste of a piping hot nut right out of the roaster, I was sold! Half a kilo of yummy salted deliciousness and I was in heaven.
Upper Floor
Everything else! So much clothing, all of which looked new. Looking for some knock off items, handbags, wallets, hoodies, sports wear and shoes, here is your chance to stock up.
There are household goods, electronics, and well, pretty much everything else. I was overwhelmed by the amount of goods available at this bazaar. And the prices were amazing and many things were priced already meaning very little haggling. I had loaded up my bags with so much fresh produce, I didn’t have any room for upstairs! Guess where I’ll be next Sunday?? 🤣
