In keeping with my plan to revisit all the places that brought me joy while I lived here, this was a frequented one. Delving into this sun dappled rain forest was a way to escape the ugly parts of the city and make my brain happier. Come see the Trans Canada Trail at Cowichan near …

Dubbed as Europe’s most ‘boring’ capital city, I wasn’t sure what to expect upon my arrival. Was there going to be anything to see here? Only 30,000 visitors arrive each year, there isn’t a whole lot of information available online to learn about exactly what this city is like. With the aide of a map …
A beach girl at heart, you know I had to check out this area of the country. Having spent considerable time in Budva and Tivat, I am curious to see how Bar compares. While not a huge fan of a rocky beach, if that’s all that available, then I’ll take it. A day trip to …
As an avid market goer, almost the first thing I look to visit when at a new destination is any type of market. Flea, antique, fresh food, second hand, doesn’t matter. I love them all! I have found the best market in Podgorica Montenegro and I’m excited to show you everything. Location Right in the …
Within the confines of this capital city full of utilitarian concrete buildings is a natural haven. In fact, it’s the city’s namesake. Podgorica means ‘under the hill’, that hill being Gorica Hill. This large green space calls to me and I visit it every other day. Gorica Hill Park an oasis found in Podgorica Montenegro …
Podgorica is the second least visited capital city in Europe. Often dubbed as ‘boring’, I am here and hoping to find not only why that is, but what there actually is to see. Always drawn to historical places, the first area I explore is the oldest part of the city. What remains of Stara Varos …
Having been to this country twice before, I am arriving with some degree of familiarity. I have been curious as to why one rarely hears about the capital city though? With only a little research, I discover that not only is this the second least visited European capital, its also dubbed as the most ‘boring’. …

When I was in Sicily about two years ago, I was perusing maps of the island. One place kept drawing my attention but was a little to far away from my position on the east coast. That place has stayed with me and popped into my brain from time to time. Reminding me of its …

Three reasons brought me to Marsala and they are salt, wine and ancient history. This relatively new city is founded on the most ancient of sites, a city called Lilibeo. Settled as early as the 8th century BC, there are ruins and history to be discovered. Come and see ancient shipwrecks at the Marsala Archaeological …
