I was thinking today on my morning walk, it has almost been four months since I left home and began this journey. That started me wondering about what I have used the most, or found the most useful thus far. My 5 best Amazon travel finds so far are a backpack, packing cubes, travel wrist wallet, sarong and compression seal bags.

Travelon Backpack

One of my favourite purchases is this indispensable backpack. I have a number of Travelon products, I find all of them excellent quality and very useful.

My Travelon backpack folds into itself to live life most of the time, as a little bundle in my suitcase. However, when I am on a day trip, outing to the beach, or just gathering some groceries, this bag is a life saver. In the photo’s below, I have packed into it the following: 2 large beach towels, sarong, hoodie, bikini, book, sandals, water bottle, shorts, tank top and it still has loads of room!

It is made of a super lightweight nylon, dries so quickly and is comfortable to wear. I take it with me on every single holiday, and it has sustained no damage to date.

Travel Compression Bags

These are brilliant. I purchased my vacuum seal bags on Amazon before I left. I use mine for clothing. Because I had to bring different styles of clothes for the varying climates I will encounter, I needed a way to store the unused clothes safely.

While I have been in Mexico, I have kept my clothing that I am not using, in these bags. They have been in my suitcase for almost 4 months. The clothes smell just as fresh as the day I put them in. A humid and hot country can wreak havoc on fabrics, but my lightweight sweaters are as good as new!

I don’t need any type of vacuum for the bags I purchased. I simply close the double zip seal (green end), then roll them up and voila! A little brick of airtight clothing!

Sarong

My thin cotton sarong is a game changer for me. This piece of fabric is handy in so many different situations. I cannot image travelling without it. It is very lightweight and thin, washable, quick to dry and super pretty!

I have used the sarong for a beach blanket, beach cover up, pool towel, lounge chair cover, skirt, scarf, and a shawl. The one I have is thin and rolls up so tiny, I can fit it in my purse. It is a gem.

Cloudz RFID Wrist Band Wallet

Super handy to have when you don’t or can’t take a purse with you and have no pockets. I have worn this band on my wrist and ankle. It has one zippered pocket that fits, credit cards, money, keys, lip balm, hair ties, anything small really.

I have worn the Cloudz wrist wallet under clothing as a secure way to travel with cash. Toss it in a bag for a quick access pocket for keys. I can add a safety pin to the zipper pull, and pin it inside a beach bag for added security. It is washable, quick to dry and looks sporty.

Shacke Pak Packing Cubes

I purchased two sets of these before this trip. It is the first time I have ever used packing cubes. I’m so glad I bought these. I did a lot of research and the Shacke Pak cubes had great reviews. They have held up well, no problems with the zippers or fabric so far. My set even came with a laundry bag.

When I reach a destination, I unpack completely. I like to make my rental into a temporary home. Having these cubes has made unpacking a breeze. When I arrive at my residence, I simply pull these out of my suitcase and place them into their respective drawers.

Everything stays completely organized, I love it! On the day before travel, the articles simply go back inside, zip up, returned to the suitcase and done!

Every long term traveller has their travel hacks and favourite finds. These are just a few of mine. ๐Ÿ™‚
