Looking for a free but fun and lively place to get a snack or two in the evening? A stroll down the boardwalk, while the sun is setting is perfect. At night this stretch near the sea has some of the best snacks on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta.
Malecon at Night
The Malecon is a 1.5 kilometre stretch of seaside boardwalk that runs from the Rosita Hotel in Centro to the Pier in the Romantic Zone. During the day, this is a bustling area of walkers, runners, shoppers and diners. In the evening, canopies are set up and filled with food! The atmosphere is lively and festive. There are vendors selling toys, balloons, cotton candy and a wide arrange of snacks.
If you are looking for a scrumptious dessert, look no further than the Malecon, for there are two tents set up selling delectable looking pies, flans and cakes. There is also hand made ice cream and fruit on a stick. Everything tastes better on a stick!
If it’s something savoury you desire look no further than the Tostilocos stands. A Mexican specialty consisting of Tostitos tortilla chips, cucumber, jicama, peanuts, cueritos, Chamoy, lime, and hot sauce. The bag of Tostitos is cut open along the side and filled with all of the above ingredients and eaten from the bag with a fork. Amazing!
Another very popular evening snack here in PV is barbecued corn on the cob, covered in hot sauce then dipped in cheese. Or corn kernels filling a cup, mixed with mayonnaise and sprinkled with hot sauce. So many things to try! You will need a few evenings to taste all of these spicy treats.
