I have been located in this mostly residential municipality for my first couple of weeks in Turkey. I am quite far from the coast, but every other day I cannot help but wander down to beautiful Konyaalti Beach in Antalya.

Location

From Antalya Old Town, Konyaalti Beach is towards the Taurus Mountain Range, on the opposite side of Antalya as Lara Beach. A very popular tourist destination for sure as the beach is covered in clubs, restaurants and hotels. I am quite far inland and it takes me a full half an hour to walk to the sea.

Beach

The beach itself is a whopping 13 kilometres long! Made of up smooth small pebbles that have been pounded by the waves for years, it is not so easy to walk on. Two steps forward and you end up sliding back one step, so if you are looking for a workout, this would be it. There really is no compact area even right close to the water.

The beach is very clean, I rarely see any litter at all. At regular intervals are change cubicles and life guard stands.

Water

Gloriously warm, even in the winter months like right now. And oh so crystal clear! Even early in the morning, if I happen to be down before 8am, there are already swimmers in the sea, it is that lovely and warm. Entry is not gradual however, at 10 steps in, I am already unable to touch the sea floor.

Beach Clubs

One thing I like the most about this beach is the variety of beach clubs. Walking along there is every possible vibe you could imagine. From the girliest of girly pink and flamingo clubs to the cool and sleek hooka clubs. Take your pick or try a new one every day!

Promenade

I wrote an entire post on this beautiful place to stroll or exercise if you should wish. It really is the highlight of staying in Konyaalti. I am so pleased the municipality decided on this momentous undertaking. So many people are using this space every day, from morning to night.

If you are looking to vacation in Antalya, I would highly recommend staying in a hotel on Konyaalti Beach or as close as you can get. Further inland is just a series of condo complexes with little to no city beautification. Staying down near beautiful Konyaalti Beach is where the vibes are and where you want to be.
