I am so happy to be back in a city that is full of creativity. Like Rome, here on the coast, there is an abundance of street art. The beautiful graffiti of Salerno that I have seen has been not only interesting but unique as well.

Beautiful Graffiti of Salerno

Political Graffiti

One genre I have noticed more of here in this city is the political graffiti, or graff that has an inherent message it is attempting to provoke. I really enjoy seeing this and photographing it, for it provides a glimpse into what the locals are feeling in this moment.

Tagging

Like most cities of any size in the world, there is tagging, and lots of it. Here of interest, is the lack of the typical bubble letters. There are some, don’t get me wrong, but the majority of the tagging takes the form of a singular stroke of the paint.

Areas around the city, especially down the smaller alleys are absolutely covered in tagging. I am one to explore the little nooks and crannies of a place which gives me the opportunity to find this graffiti of Salerno.

Pictorial Graff

One of my favourite types of graffiti is the pictorial. I love seeing how creative people are in expressing themselves through this art form. To my pleasure, there is a lot of it here! My camera has been busy taking photo’s all over town.

There is an abundance of street art here in Salerno. In this post, I have attempted to exclude any type of mural art or profession street art. I want to capture the actual graffiti in its rawest form.

A previous post covers the Muri D’autore area and the street art located there. It is absolutely gorgeous and such fun to walk those streets and alleys. Makes one feel as if they were inside a living and breathing art gallery.

Muri D’autore street art

In a future post I will cover the street art from area’s that are not exclusively Muri D’autore. Luckily, I have had no shortage of opportunities to find art everywhere I explore. It is like a treasure hunt, I never know what I am going to see around the next corner here in Salerno.
