It would be remiss of me to be on location for a month and not have a post about the beautiful cats of Nessebar. There are so many of them around this lovely town. I have seen every shape, size and colour and for the most part, they seem healthy and happy.
Old Town Cats
I have fallen in love with Old Town Nessebar, and that includes the cats that reside there. It is a fairly small land mass, but seems to have an inordinately high number of cats. Perfect for me!
Most of the lovely felines I have tried to photograph here have been friendly, a little shy, but not too much. They are very sweet and all seem well cared for.
New Nessebar
So many beautiful cats! I have to say, sadly I have seen some that appear a little unhealthy. This is the first time in my travels so far, where I have seen cats this way. They are getting plenty of food and water, that is evident by all of the kibbles laying about. But I do notice the odd one or two that has eye problems and seems just a bit on the too skinny side. Poor muffins.
Kittens
Oh so many kittens! I love when I come across a family of cats. Twice now, the dad has been with the mom and babes. They were not allowed right up beside mom, but made to keep their distance. But still, even them standing close by is just soooo darn cute.
I was thinking yesterday, as I was sitting on my deck, enjoying the early evening sunshine, I havenโt seen any window cats in Nessebar. Perhaps keeping indoor cats is not a thing? All have been outdoors, and seem to belong to specific houses. But unlike Malta for example, where I noticed quite a few cats in windows, keeping an eye on the neighbourhood, here there are none.
I will never tire of seeing, talking to and photographing beautiful cats. They bring so much joy into my days. Everyone, give your fur balls an extra hug from me today.
