On my walk-a-bout town this morning I went to the amazing Puerto Vallarta sports stadium & park called Unidad Deportiva Agustin Flores Contreras. This stadium is huge and is located right down town on highway 200 and Brasilla. I was really quite shocked at how large it was and how many facilities it provided. It was great to see so many people out exercising and having fun.

Amenities

You name it this facility has it! There is a regulation sized baseball and softball fields. Football/soccer fields, tennis and racquetball courts, volley ball and basketball courts as well. There is a children’s play ground, a dog park and a skate park. There really is something for every interest and most of the spaces were happily being employed by like minded healthy individuals.

Main Entrance
Body Weight Machines

Ball diamond
Basketball Courts

Looking to lift some weights? There is even a fully equipped old school outdoor gym! So cool.

The facility is very secure and is entirely fenced with one main gate. Each larger field is also fenced. In the evenings on the weekends there are often footie games that are free to have a minimal fee to watch.

Food!

Inside the stadium I noticed one concession open this morning. On the outside along Calle Las Americas, there are several food stands and these are outstanding! One stall specifically was completely full this morning by 9am. All food vendors are open from morning until night. How fun, than to much on tacos & beer and take in a live footie match one evening.

Skate Park & Playground

The skate park is great, really clean and fantastic local graffiti. The children’s playground is near the basketball courts and is old school! Check out the slide, same kind I and every other kid burnt our butts on in the 70’s cause they would get so scorching hot in the summer! There were also climbing bars, swings and teeter totters.

If you are looking for a great place to work out each day, or to bring the family for some exercise and fun, this is your place. I was so impressed with how clean it was kept and how friendly all of the people were that I met.
