Having been located here for two weeks now, I have had the opportunity to walk the neighbourhood in depth. This municipality encompasses a large area, mostly residential condo complexes, but there are still a few things to see. Here are 5 free things to do in Konyaalti should you be looking for ideas.

The Promenade

Perhaps my favourite thing in this entire area is the magnificent promenade that spans the length of Konyaalti Beach. Here you will find a wide seaside walkway that includes outdoor gyms, playgrounds, basketball courts, dog parks, many public seating areas and much more.

You could quite possibly spend at least half a day here, or come out every morning or evening for a stroll. There are café’s littered along the way and of course the gorgeous sea and Taurus Mountain range as your viewing pleasure.

Konyaalti Kent Meydani

On the hotel side of the promenade, about half way down, is an area called Konyaalti Kent Meydani. The space is all encompassing. By that I mean there seems to be a little bit of everything there. Towards the back is a lovely green park with trails for walking.

The centre is a large square that currently has booths set up with artists selling their wares. At the edges of this square are coffee shops and café’s two of which are Roberts Coffee and Starbucks.

Towards one side there also seems to be a small area with carnival games etc. These activities might vary depending on the time of year you visit; however, this is a really lovely place to come for an afternoon tea or to do some souvenir shopping.

Ataturk Kultur Parki

Right across from Corendon Airlines Park, or Antalya Arena, is the Ataturk Kultur Park. What a gorgeous city park to explore. Full of trails, ponds, café’s, a cat sanctuary, statues and fountains, one could spend hours in this beautiful space.

Things to do in Konyaalti

On a hot day, this is the perfect oasis to cool off at. Have a stroll through the pine forest, say hi to the cats and kittens and sit down for a Turkish chai. This park is a treasure for sure.

Pinarbasi Pazar

Looking for a local market that will enlighten all of your senses? Look no further than the Pinarbasi Pazar. This travelling market is located in Konyaalti on Sundays and runs all day from 8am to 8pm. As the day goes on, produce gets cheaper and cheaper.

Here you will find all of the freshest local goods for sale including spices, dried goods, fruits, vegetables, fish, cheese and Turkish sweets. There are also electronics, clothing, household items and more. It is super fun, the vendors are delightfully friendly and I would definitely add this to your itinerary.

Konyaalti Beach

I have to include the beach on this post, it is just such a stunner of coastline. There is no sand here, but the pebbles are small and smooth and won’t hurt your bare feet. The water is gloriously warm and crystal clear, perfect for a swim at any time of day.

Bring a picnic and make a day of it. There are public washrooms, and plenty of change rooms, showers and lifeguard stations.

I hope this post provides you with some ideas to do when you are visiting Konyaalti. I have enjoyed my time here, especially the magic that is the beach with the Taurus Mountain range as a back drop.
